Alright, so I was reading a quarrel in the chatbox between an unhappy user and a chat mod. I believe they both had interesting arguments. The user would make his claim as the mods don't work hard enough and they need to do a better job. I've seen everyone post this, but maybe we have to think the two sides of the story. A mcm mod has a life too. They go to sleep, eat, and go to work. We can't expect them to be on all the time unless they are getting a SOLID salary and this is a full time thing. I've had a bad experience of getting scammed due to scam reports being delayed, but can I even blame them? They're like 10 of them and a bunch of scammers. I think to solve this issue we need more mods from different timezones. There is no point of having all mods that are online at the same exact time as we need moderation throughout the day. Lastly, I'd like to thank the mcm staff team for volunteering to this and trying to do their best. Please be patient my fellow mcm users, and have a good day all.

We know we need more staff members. The problem is being a staff member here is a terrible job to have.
The pay is awful, the appreciation is worse.

People ask for more staff, we hire new excited new staff members, then everyone complains about those staff members, those staff members lose motivation and we're right back where we're started.

Anyone qualified for this position is spending their time at a real job with real pay that will actually mean something on their resume to further their career, because "Minecraft forum staff" is a complete and total waste of time as far as that's concerned.

We'll almost certainly be opening up applications again once our current staff have been trained enough to where we can afford to set aside time training those new staff members, and hopefully we'll be able to locate the rare number of people who are competent, cooperative, stout hearted as well as lacking in the good judgement to realize they should be working somewhere else.

But yes, I truly wish we had more competent mods with more time to spare.

You're doing it all wrong. Why do you need more staff members?

I know of several other market-based forums with 10,000 concurrent online users as opposed to 300 concurrent online users on McMarket. They have 4-6 staff members volunteering who don't get paid and they answer general reports and scam reports within hours. McMarket has 10+ staff members who also supposedly get paid according to your post, yet it has a 5 month backlog and over 650 unread scam reports? That is just embarrassing.

Your attempt at over-professionalism and efficiency is exactly why the forums is a total mess right now with some of the worst forum administration I've seen in the many forums I've been on before.

For one, stop waiting for the scammers to reply in scam reports. You don't have to do scam reports in batches of 20 once per month while you wait for them to be resolved, answer them all at once and as they come along. There would be no backlog at all if you did this all along, like staff does on any other (much larger) market forums.

Second, get rid of shitty specialized staff roles such as "chat moderators" and "scam resolvers". The chatbox has barely any activity and is restricted to premium members, so it's very doubtful that you need a specialized trained role to deal with it. You only need 5 normal staff members who can deal with everything. As I said, your need to be professional is exactly why you're unprofessional.

You need to chill the fuck out, fuck off with your extremely tryhard and needless staff protocol and requirements bullshit like "you must be a member for x time and go through x chat mod training", and promote a few sensible high-reputation users who will hopefully have some freedom in moderating and not be told bullshit like "do scam reports this way and only do 15 scam reports once per month".[DOUBLEPOST=1543322569][/DOUBLEPOST]
Hiring staff is a months long process, and we’re still cycling through training our newest chat mods appropriately,.
No, it's not. It's a 5 minute process unless you're trying too hard, which creates a mess.

Since this suggestion was made, in my opinion, we have completely transformed the staff team in terms of activity, response times, and overall quality. We have had some relatively rapid expansion of our staff team with more planned in the future to make our community even better. We're constantly getting better at noticing members that would be excellent staff and I think that our recent recruits are a good representation of that! :)

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
