It was not enforced only on your thread, this rule has been enforced on many threads. However, there are a lot of these posts, some old and some new. We generally delete them when they are reported. In your case, a member reported the vouches.I have a thread advertising my Discord Bot Development services in the Development forum (it's sticky) and yesterday, a lot of the users who had vouched for me on my thread DMed me on Discord telling me that their vouches were removed due to 'low quality/meaningless post".
What in the actual fuck? If this is a rule, how come it was enforced only on my thread? If a user had reported my posts deliberately (idek why because I haven't been here long enough to make enemies) what's the point in removing the posts only on my thread? How about the COUNTLESS other threads with vouches on them? What makes a vouch "meaningless" in any way?
Can I go around reporting every single vouch or meaningless post under 1.8? Clearly it seems like I can.
This is not the only thread that was its vouches removed. The vouches on the thread that were removed were:But that rule doesn’t justify removing 120275 ‘s vouches at all because they do not fall under those categories. In my 4 years of being registered on this website, this is the first time I’ve seen vouches get removed like that. There have been many thousands of informative vouches/feedback on threads, all with no problem prior to this instance.
The “Winner” reaction was originally set as “Vouch”, but it was reverted back to the default xenforo “Winner” to discourage people using it as vouches. But people do it anyway. And yes, the reputation system is made for leaving vouches/feedback, but it’s also nice for potential customers to see some feedback on the thread, and it is completely okay to do that according to the rules.
I would understand if it just said “Vouch” or something very vague, but if someone was like: “Vouch! <Person> is a great guy and is pleasant to work with! He developed my plugins in a timely manner and was super helpful! Very happy with his service.”, then it makes no sense to remove it. Of course, I don’t know what the messages said exactly, but according to 120275, they were a few sentences. Unless those sentences were literal gibbersih, they didn’t violate any rules.
When I was a staff member, if one of us made a mistake, we’d be real about it and would tell the other person. Everyone makes mistakes and you guys should be talking to each other about them. There’s no need to double down when a mistake is made and there’s no shame in removing a warning and apologizing to the user affected, I’ve made mistakes myself when I handled reports and I’ve always done my best to correct them.

Basically, some of the vouches were “Vouch” or similar. Majored informed me of this. I based my post off of @OP’s statement that the posts were 2-3 sentences long. So posts like “Vouch” - I understand removing.
Ones like “Vouch: Easy to work with, strong communicator and one of my go-to developers.” Still aren’t meaningless though. Concise, yes, but also informative.
It is a small warning but it is there to remind people that it is punishable and you will be warned for it.and i got warning points due to it.
Your post like I said earlier is pretty borderline but is a user vouch. However, I believe your warning was removed because it was borderline. Also, mistakes do happen, everyone has made them.Ok I'm mad at the staff on MC-Market, time to share some things
I was actually one of the people who had their posts on Cam's Bot Development thread deleted and received warning points for it.
And now for how I responded to that.

Energy was the one who initially warned me. And I'm tagging him so he can see how this entire thread is purely people that disagree with MC-Market Rule 1.8 in every way.
Vouches do have meaning, but if they vouch is just saying you bought the product that really means nothing.Bullshit, vouches have meaning fuckers...
This isn't a case of abuse at all, the staff member was doing his job and while 1 of the posts he removed probably shouldn't have been, that is a mistake, not abuse. You created a support request about that thread, a staff member responded and is waiting on you to respond.Yeh! 100% this site is going downhill. MCM would be literally nothing without the users here, there have been numerous reports against staff members abusing their authority and at this point is getting out of hand. I had a feedback thread removed without my discretion didn't get warning points or a message why it was removed it was just gone. I say we all just go on strike.
I doubt that he says "I don't want to" and instead is because we go by certain times for our chat bans and the 5th offense is 1-month. You can say that you were on your 3rd offense but we have page to keep track of the warnings and you had 4 already.Mcm is actually going downhill, I was banned from Shoutbox for A MONTH because I advertised twice in a 20 minute period and it was only my third offense I asked the moderator if it was possible to reduce it and he said he doesn't want to he also said it was my 5th offense when it was only my 3rd, the staff that they're bringing in are terrible and the new rules are just unnecessary, this is why you can see MORE and MORE Exit scammer nowadays :/ I hope mcm realizes this and actually listens to the community for once
This has been a rule for a long time. People may be reporting it more now, however. "Vouch" has almost no significance. This has not happened to me but this is ridiculous. "Vouch" is something to let people know your service was good and useful. I usually don't like clicking through peoples profile just to scroll through some more rep and look for something as a vouch for this small service. MCM staff are being way to strict not allowing a vouch...
Oh, so you only deleted the ones that just said "vouch" etc. Kinda makes sense thenIt was not enforced only on your thread, this rule has been enforced on many threads. However, there are a lot of these posts, some old and some new. We generally delete them when they are reported. In your case, a member reported the vouches.
This is not the only thread that was its vouches removed. The vouches on the thread that were removed were:
Vouch: Easy to work with, strong communicator and one of my go-to developers. - This one is informative and I would consider it borderline because of rule 1.8.3 Do not vouch on a product/service thread unless you have purchased that product/service. User vouches should be done via the reputation system.
This is a user vouch more than a vouch for the service in the thread because there is nothing to suggest that he bought a bot.
BIG VOUCH! made an awesome discord bot for me - This is just "Vouch, bought an {item}" which is clearly stated as not allowed.
Vouch, made me a great bot for a good price! - Same as the previous one
Vouch, easy to work with. - I don't even know if this is a user vouch or a product vouch, there isn't enough detail
Vouch - Fairly explanatory
Vouch, super helpful and will tweak the bot to your liking! - This one I talked to Energy about and agreed that it is borderline but it is relevant and has enough detail about how the service went.
It is a small warning but it is there to remind people that it is punishable and you will be warned for it.

Vouches do have meaning, but if they vouch is just saying you bought the product that really means nothing.
"Vouch! Created my bot extremely fast, and with high quality." This vouch was left there because it was viewed as it has meaning because it is relevant to the thread and is informative.
This was just added "Vouch for Cam! Cam made me a bot a couple months ago and was very quick with the work. He completed my request in a very timely manner and updated me frequently!" which is another example of a good vouch.

I tried to get it removed but everyone shitted on me[DOUBLEPOST=1569639521][/DOUBLEPOST]https://www.mc-market.org/threads/511631/#post-4097111I have a thread advertising my Discord Bot Development services in the Development forum (it's sticky) and yesterday, a lot of the users who had vouched for me on my thread DMed me on Discord telling me that their vouches were removed due to 'low quality/meaningless post".

It really does, it lets people know that your service was good. Nobody wants to click through profiles to find rep."Vouch" has almost no significance.
