Way to Prevent Un-Needed People from joining.

I was thinking that it would be a nice idea for the moderators to review the first 5 (or less/more) of every new person's posts on the forum. That way more "un-needed" people would be prevented from joining the forum.

(Couldn't think of a better word than un-needed. English is not my primary language, don't judge! xD)

I don't think you should judge a person by their first 5 posts.

This is not needed. There was a single spambot that bypassed our block for them (which is that people under the 3 messages cannot post links), but nothing more that I know of. Out of the many dozens of new members that join.

If ALL types of posts from new members were to be moderated, even if its just their first 5, we'd need at least a half-dozen new staff members dedicated to nothing else, or it'd take weeks for posts by new members to get through.

All in all, the costs severely outbalance the gains.
