Who am I?
I am Darth. Also known as Vitiate on discord and other aliases, etc. At the time of this post, I am the CEO of Titanium Hosting and the head of the Marketing Department. I am responsible for all day to day responsibilities as of now.
What is Titanium Hosting’s mission statement?
Titanium Hosting strives to be the reasonably* transparent and affordable solution that empowers customers with the knowledge and tools needed to grow their communities.
*Unreasonable requests commonly fall under but are not exclusive to releasing personal information, company finances, protected content under NDA obligations. Most other actions to demonstrate transparency would qualify as “reasonable”.
- Empowering customers with the knowledge and tools to grow their communities.
- Being reasonably* honest/transparent whenever possible.
- *Unreasonable requests commonly fall under but are not exclusive to releasing personal information, company finances, protected content under NDA obligations.
- Fair (and in many cases Affordable) pricing for our products and services
In the next 2 months or so, where does Titanium Hosting project to be?
We at Titanium Hosting are still looking to define a solid breakdown of our prices for the different games we’ll be catering to. Within 2 months or so, essentially during the near future, we should be having our initial release and thus be ready to process orders for Gary’s Mod, Minecraft, and Rust.
We will have a legitimate WHMCS license and functioning back end panel (billing and ticket system), a discord community server fully setup and ready to be joined, and sufficiently staffed. Sufficiently staffed would be defined as having all Manager positions filled, a handful of Customer Support positions filled, and a handful of System Admin positions filled.
As for our front end website (the site that most potential customers will be learning about us) we envision it to be up to date with modern web standards such as mobile responsiveness, monochromatic color scheme, but most importantly of all, to have content that serves to educate potential customers of how to make sense of all the technical specifications (that so many of our competitors mindlessly list out), and what specifications to look for their specific game server needs, and why we are an affordable solution to those needs!
Too often have I seen (and experienced myself personally) asking the questions of “How much RAM do I need? What does this core even do? Why do I care about the # of threads or CPU processing power? Which one of these plans with all these specifications actually fits my needs?” Titanium Hosting will not be just “another host” who expects their customer to make sense of all this information OR to ask friends of theirs to make sense of it for them.
The content presented on our website will be designed to break it all down in “digestible bites” in an effort to minimize this common confusion when asking “What host is right for me?” We’ll also show our potential customer exactly how we’re better than our competitors via comparison charts with price, performance, and features all in mind.
- Determine pricing of the different games we will process orders for on initial release
- Initial Release (Ready to process orders)
- Garry’s Mod
- Minecraft
- Rust
- Garry’s Mod
- Legitimate WHMCS billing panel functioning
- Discord community server setup

- Content with the purpose of educating the viewer/potential customer of what we offer and how to understand the technical specifications, that would generally fit that potential customer’s needs.
- Minimize the overwhelming confusion of “How much RAM do I need? What core is the best for my game community? How many threads? Clock speeds? Etc.”
- Content with the purpose of educating the viewer/potential customer of what we offer and how to understand the technical specifications, that would generally fit that potential customer’s needs.
- Sufficiently staffed
- All Manager positions fulfilled
- Handful of customer support positions fulfilled
- System Admins positions fulfilled
- All Manager positions fulfilled
In the next year or two, where does Titanium Hosting project to be?
The vision for Titanium Hosting in the “long term” (by next year or two) is for us to be hiring more staff members as we grow. That one is rather obvious. However, we also have ambitions of being “noticed” by our existing competitors in this arguably saturated industry of gaming host providers. With our approach and standards mentioned in our mission statement, we hope to gain traction with not just numbers but with qualitative reviews left by our community of customers. Titanium Hosting also has a firm goal to transition from using rented hardware over to owned hardware, knowing this will be a huge investment. With owned hardware there are far more ways to optimize the services we’re providing to customers, thus improving performance and quality while also cutting operation costs.
With $4000 initial investment to advertising, prior to our initial release, we plan to allocate about $3000 toward Youtube Marketing and $1000 towards Partnerships. Additionally Titanium Hosting has made both pessimistic and optimistic projections of net revenue (not to be confused with net profit) for the coming year of 2020-2021:
- Pessimistic Projection: $5,000
- Optimistic Projection: $15,000
- Hiring more staff members as we grow
- Noticed by existing competitors
- Transitioning from rented hardware to owned hardware
- $3000 to Marketing $1000 to Partnerships
- 75% allocated toward Youtube Marketing
- 25% allocated toward Partnerships
- $5,000 (Pessimistic Projected 2020-2021 Revenue)
- $15,000 (Optimistic Projected 2020-2021 Revenue)
- 75% allocated toward Youtube Marketing
Where is Titanium Hosting right now?
Prior to the posting of this recruitment thread, a “Founder’s Meeting” lasting for about 2 hours was held for me to gather enough information of the company Titanium Hosting’s founding staff envisions to be and the structure we are establishing here. One key takeaway (so I do not bore you, the reader, of the other details) was that we will not be looking to incorporate ourselves in the near future.
“They’re not going to register as a business. They’re another summer host!” many I imagine will be starting to type as soon as they read this, or ignore the thread’s content here and post this comment anyways. However, allow me to put this into context with regards to real life startup companies, just beginning to get themselves immersed with their market and making their early sales. Many “real life startups” in my experience have only ever incorporated themselves if they had the resources/funding necessary from the get go. It looks great on paper, it verifies you as a legitimate business to an educated customer, but when its all said and done, being registered as a startup is only a cosmetic.
Our decision to remain unregistered and instead as an “informal business” of sorts is to allow Titanium Hosting to “test the waters” so to speak and get a feel for the industry we’re going to be competing in. The business model of a hosting provider is not all too complicated, but the market itself has become saturated with so much “supply” with an arguably scarce amount of “demand” for hosting services. Thus, we will steer away from the path of doing more paperwork and accounting for now until we have the time and funding toward becoming incorporated. I hope you can understand that not all “lemonade stands” need to start out as registered businesses to generate profit.
With that lengthy explanation out of the way, in regards to incorporation, Titanium Hosting is ultimately looking to recruit a few more staff members for our initial release (anticipating to be 2 months from now). Additionally a separate thread will be made for investments toward Titanium Hosting’s progress with the corresponding details at a later date. It should be noted that as of right now, the CEO of Titanium Hosting is the sole source of funding for the company as of posting this thread. Thus, Titanium Hosting is not “just another host looking for a quick buck from others” to “make a quick buck for themselves”.
- Hosted a 2 hour ish long “Founder’s Meeting” over discord call
- Discussed many items on our agenda but one main takeaway is to agree that we are a startup and will not incorporate/legally register quite yet.
- Looking to recruit a few more staff members for initial release
- Looking for Managment
- CEO is currently the sole individual with funds toward Titanium Hosting
What, in general, are the kind of people we’re looking for to join the team?
We’re looking for applicants of the age 16 or older with the rationale behind this age requirement being to avoid the bulk of legal obligations and paperwork down the road as Titanium Hosting grows. Furthermore, Titanium Hosting is looking for individuals who are forward minded within short and long term contexts. Our ideal applicants will believe in and stand true to the standards mentioned in a previous section of this thread.
There’s always the universal qualification of “strong communication skills”, but I would like to expand on this further. Titanium Hosting is very much like any other “professional work environment” where certain negative behaviors should be frowned down upon. I do know, however, that oftentimes this is not the case and in fact many work environments ironically fail to minimize conflicts that arise between any and all individuals working in said “professional work environment”. In complete honesty, Titanium Hosting is likely to have the same issues. However, this does not mean that Titanium Hosting will simply tolerate “toxicity” to occur.
We strongly believe in looking for people who are willing and able to learn how to overcome the incremental events that collectively create this unwanted “toxicity”. Some incremental events include miscommunication, workplace “politics”, selfish agendas, insider sabotage, blackmail, and straight up microaggression. There are many more to be listed, however these are just some that I have managed to look out for in my times of working at any sort of “group” or “company” environment. Titanium Hosting strongly believes in taking measures to raise awareness of these incremental events and facilitate conversations between affected employees if they occur in our workplace. We do not believe in resorting to straight “firing” unless it is deemed the most appropriate of actions, moving forward.
To put it informally, we’re looking for people who can learn to work nicely with others and call out bullshit when they see it, knowing it is okay to do so, as long as said bullshit is pointed out and eventually resolved.
Moving onto a lighter note, we’re also looking for applicants who have a working microphone although this will not be a strict requirement. The reasoning behind this is simply that we want to have efficient staff meetings that do not involve waiting for typed responses that could take up precious meeting time. We are also still debating whether to use Discord voice chat rooms as a means of allowing Support positions (Both technical and customer oriented) to assist customers with their needs so a working microphone obviously would prove useful in this context.
- People who think of the future, short & long term
- People who want to stand by the standards mentioned prior
- People who can learn to overcome miscommunication, politically toxic atmospheres, microaggressions
- Age 16 or older (eventual legal obligations will be easier to handle with this in place)
- Working microphone
