most people refer to Tor as the Tor Browser Bundle aka TBB. this is simply not the case, Tor is not TBB. TBB includes Tor network connectivity in a hardened version of Firefox.

Tor is a network, ally is technically right here, based on definitions of what Tor is and what TBB is.

but, 0n has stated that yes, in this context in the poll "Tor" refers to TBB. technically this shouldn't have happened and utaninja should have referred to "Tor" as TBB, since they're talking about the browser, but iirc polls can't be edited.

people who know what Tor is should understand that it is a network and TBB is the browser. even in popular culture, people refer to Tor Browser as the browser and not simply Tor, there are songs that reference Tor Browser and not just Tor.

In this context, Tor refers to Tor browser (at least it looks like it is, as all of the other options in the poll are browsers and this entire thread is about browsers)
Even on that link, you see "Download Tor Browser" and not "Download Tor". Tor will always refer to The Onion Router / the software that enables access to the Tor network, rather than the Tor Browser itself. There are all sorts of programs that connect to the Tor network, from browsers to messengers, websites, botnets, custom programs, whatever.

Chrome eats a lot of ram, I've considered myself to Chrome in the past because of the speed but I don't think I would suggest Chrome now after I've moved to Opera.

I've also experienced Firefox, good speed but also uses a little ram.
Opera GX is the way to go if you're a gamer, or having low ram.

There is no downside for Opera GX however! it works exactly like chrome, fast and sharp!

+1 for Opera GX.

DO NOT use Tor mode on Brave. its only purpose is to hide your IP address. Tor Browser Bundle (TBB ) is far better than Tor on Brave as it adds extra privacy protection and other Tor features, plus it's developed by the Tor Project.
It's all I am needing.
I'm not sitting here creating a second WikiLeaks.

I use Waterfox because the mainstream browsers such as Edge are slow for me.

Opera isn't Chrome, it's Chromium, not the same[DOUBLEPOST=1575669383][/DOUBLEPOST]
Did ya click the link ?
I'm well aware what Chromium is. My statement still stands. On a base ground level they are the same, everything that Opera/Google build on their browsers is different.

Ally is correct. Though in this context I was referring to the Tor Browser, not TBB. Even I'm not on Tails, etc.

There is a downside actually. Privacy. Although it's a great browser in every way. Tryout Brave, it's similar with design and less ram but it actually has better privacy. If privacy isn't a concern, OpearaGX is sick.
Surprisingly Safari isn't that bad. Try Brave or FF on mobile, built-in ad-blocck and other features!

WaterFox is cool, why waterfox though?

FireFox beats Brave in privacy, but everything it beats it in, in my opinion. I got you.
Have you tried another browser? You should check out Brave or FF!

I've hopped around browsers a fair bit and have found that Firefox just seems right. I didn't like Brave that much because it had a few bugs on Linux and Chrome just seems off.

My turn! I use Safari on my Mac as my all purpose general browser. Only thing on the list that describes this is "Edge/Explorer/Forced default," since Safari is macOS' default browser.

In addition to this, I use Chrome for most YouTube videos since I like to have the freedom to go beyond 1080p resolution, which is what you're stuck on in Safari. It also serves the purpose of opening any webpage that more or less needs a Chromium browser to function (thankfully such pages are exceedingly rare). I may or may not replace Chrome with a different Chromium browser in the future.

If I wasn't using the above combination, I'd be using Vivaldi. I truly believe it's the only browser that maintains Windows/macOS/iOS/Android's attitude of actually adding useful new features with every major update instead of just idling. There's very little improvement in web browsers, even though they represent the single largest use of our computers. They should be excellent, and Vivaldi's the only one that has a team that is dedicated to making it more powerful. I just wish they'd release an iOS version already!
