Hello Mc Market!

Im opening up a server and web hosting site and before we do so, we wanted to see what people want out of a host.

What makes a host "good"?

What would put you off a hosting company?

Is cheap the best or is it about great customer service?

All awnsers will be thought about in the process of creating the best host!

Thanks!

P.S We will announce when we open, expect a few more days unless we get down cracking on it or sitting down watching TV all day.

What makes a host "good"?

A host that is extremely cheap, uses Intel CPUs and has an attractive website

What would put you off a hosting company?

Prices and using AMD cpus.
Is cheap the best or is it about great customer service?

Cheap, I rarely run into issues, and if I do, it is likely the host's fault.

What would you class as cheap? An Xeon 1520 for what price would you want were thinking of doing a plan that you share a machine with 1 other person and you get 32gb of ram with Intel Xeon (not sure what model were doing yet) and you can run as many servers as you like up to your limit.

Would £50 be a good price for that as looking at the same thing on other websites it seems a good deal but what do you think?

Cheap, Like $1.50 - $2 per gig. Good website, I don't really like multicraft, I like ssh. Great support, and good dedicated servers.
Thanks were aiming for $2.50 or $2 per gig and were not to sure what route we're taking with the whole multicraft or ssh access yet.[DOUBLEPOST=1463607279][/DOUBLEPOST]
Thats amazing for a 32GB Intel Xeon (Although they aren't good for game hosting)
What proccessor would you reccomend?[DOUBLEPOST=1463607383][/DOUBLEPOST]In a week or so we will put up a demo server with Kitpvp installed to show it.

the hosting market is flooded with hundreds of hosting companies that it is not worth the time or money really to do this anymore unless you can buy your own servers and put them in a really cheap data center. good luck though

Fast servers. Low prices. Thats what everyone mostly care's about. However you have to be at the right price limit. To cheap and people think your scammers. To expensive and they think your over pricing it. ;)

Nothing is wrong with OVH? I been using them for 3 years? o.o I don't know why everyone dislikes them... :L

I am not saying there bad as I love them but you shouldn't be reselling servers from a already existent hosting company

This bugs me lol. You're not really "reselling" OVH unless you're reselling their dedicated servers. Hosts that rent OVH dedicated servers are simply using the servers they rent to provide a service..

That's what I kind of meant to say. There are multiple hosting services that are renting from OVH but either they overcharge a ton to make a profit or they claim it is their own servers and not someone they are renting from.

Machines will either have 1gb/s or 5gb/s or 10gb/s speed.[DOUBLEPOST=1463613797][/DOUBLEPOST]Also our package will include free web hosting most likely to make sure servers have there own websites and you will be able to register domains from us and SSL. The website is currently under development.

Were thinking of doing i7-4790K as we have read that its good for game hosting and we're thinking of doing a plan that you share a machine with 1 other person and you get 32gb of ram and you can run as many servers as you like up to your limit with setup all done buy use and if we are to add multicraft it will be paid by us.

Also each machine will have a 16-32gb (we have decided yet) usb stick which can hold the os and will help keep space.

P.S We have 2 SSD's on each machine, the 2 people who are on the machine have 1 ssd each to help keep the servers faster.

Pricing maybe £54.99/month and maybe a £5 setup (We will do all these machines our self as automatic may put more than 2 people per machine)

How are you giving access to a client so he can create as many server he wants? Are you going to use Multicraft? Or are you going to give him SSH access?

We're doing an option of multicraft or tcadmin and setting up SSH access if clients want that, without them accessing each the other client on the machines files but we dont know when we will get that done.[DOUBLEPOST=1463670146][/DOUBLEPOST]

Is there anything you think we should add to the website or to the package?
