S10 shits on the X when it comes to specs, but I like the software a bit more for the X. What would you guys choose?

The iPhone X actually beats the S10 in terms of multicore performance despite being the older phone. The iPhone has proven to be the phone of choice for many people. App developers often target iPhones and whatnot, thus bringing the greatest experience for you. In addition, there is proprietary software available only on iOS like iMessage, FaceTime and other networking tools that you may miss out on if you use the S10. In addition, Apple provides longer support and updates for its phones unlike many Android phone manufacturers (I'm unsure about Samsung specifically). Thus, I'd suggest the iPhone X.

First, choose either Apple or Samsung -- if you like apple's design, then go for that as real-world application will see very little to no difference between the two. From there, I recommend just picking up last generation's phone if you care at all about saving a decent chunk of money. Last I checked S9s (As I prefer the flexibility of Android a lot more than the simplicity of Apple OS) is going for $330 which is a steal for what you get comparing midrange phones and last year's flagship phones. Trust me, no one is going to bat an eye that your phone isn't the latest and greatest as hardly any noticeable/noteworthy improvements are made with phones in the past few years.

I would go with either a iPhone 8 Plus or iPhone 8, or a Galaxy S9 if you're into Android because these new perky phones are not worth $1k imo. You can score an S9 or whatever for real cheap or an 8 Plus for a regular standard price for a flagship smartphone ($600-700)

Both phones are decently optimized nowadays. Idk what the people here are saying that the iphone will last longer. I've had a samsung s8 since it came out and have had zero issues (We also haven't had lawsuits about our company purposely slowing down our phones *cough* apple has though *cough*).

Somebody earlier mentioned the cores are better in the iphone X (which is wrong, s10 is Octa Core and the X is hexa)

Comparing the two (link here for my source)
The S10 is better than Iphone in the following fields:
- Better display
- Better battery life
- Better pixel density
- Ligher weight wise
- Better front AND back camera resolution
- And more

If that isn't enough for you, here is another link that talks about a bit more

TL:DR; The s10 beats X in just about every single hardware field. It's your choice.

to be fair on a worse operating system, can get viruses and also previous samsung phones have also slowed down ALOT and battery life went down the tubes

A lot of those are not concerns. The only "to be fair" i can think of is the X came out years ago so of course the specs will be way worse.

The reason the others do not matter is the operating system allows a lot more control. You can get viruses yes, but if you know how technology works and you dont do stupid stuff you wont get any. Your claim that they slow down a lot and battery life goes down the drains is quite inaccurate. Apple products are the ones notorious for losing 80% of their battery in a couple minutes (this obviously isn't talking about a brand new phone. A brand new phone on both sides works splendidly). And again, Apple is the one that has literally had numerous lawsuits about purposefully updating their phones to SLOW DOWN.

If i was a company id do the same thing. Having to have customers keep feeding them money, the phone is a better product even on top of them slowing the phone down thats the funnier part.

I would go with the iPhone X because nowadays people in your school look at you differently if you use an android. People like us are pretty much stuck in the apple ecosystem. I’ve used apple phones all my life and I’ve tried android for a year, didn’t like it. So if you’ve been a long time apple phone user, get the iPhone X because you won’t regret it.

What defines a better product is opinionated. What is factual is the fact that if he wants better hardware he should go to the s10. I know some people that knowingly take the worse hardware because they hate the looks of android. It all depends
We're in the real world here. Phones nowadays don't depend on Hardware at all, because the A12 is a powerhouse and so are Exynos processors. What matters is User Experience, and the Apple Ecosystem, basically the line of apple products, doesn't exist at all on the Android side.

It all depends on what you enjoy. Do you enjoy freedom, at the cost of really terrible security and bloatware, or simplicity and safe security, at the cost of being limited on a restricting OS.

I think it's down to the experience rather than Hardware because you're not noticing pixel density if you're staring at a smartphone screen, and if photos are coming out looking very nice you won't care about the numbers and resolutions of the camera.

My 2 cents
