Why buy a phone lmao, I got a brand new Android 7.0 tablet for $60 like 3 or 4 years ago, still works fine (except if I leave either a golf game or music app on for 8+ hours, then it slows down and I have to restart it, but otherwise there's no issues)[DOUBLEPOST=1557406630][/DOUBLEPOST]
We're in the real world here. Phones nowadays don't depend on Hardware at all, because the A12 is a powerhouse and so are Exynos processors. What matters is User Experience, and the Apple Ecosystem, basically the line of apple products, doesn't exist at all on the Android side.

It all depends on what you enjoy. Do you enjoy freedom, at the cost of really terrible security and bloatware, or simplicity and safe security, at the cost of being limited on a restricting OS.

I think it's down to the experience rather than Hardware because you're not noticing pixel density if you're staring at a smartphone screen, and if photos are coming out looking very nice you won't care about the numbers and resolutions of the camera.

My 2 cents
give me one app apple has that android doesn't (guarantee there's an android alternative for all of these)
On the other hand, Android has emulators, which Apple doesn't allow, and until this past 2 or 3 years, Android was beating them with things like screen recorders and phone apps.

iMessage, FaceTime (Android doesn't have a mainstream video calling platform!), AirDrop. What makes them good is that they work smoothly and as intended. iMessage > SMS//MMS

Those are only three. Not to mention the secure App Store

I would personally get the iPhone X it will last you much longer and personally I think the OS is better than android
If you like the OS, that's on you, but coming from personal experience, iOS does not last. My mom's iPhone started having serious issues after 2 years, and our iPad had failures with updating, even though the hardware should've supported it. I've had two Android tablets. This one I currently use has lasted around 4 years, and the one before that lasted around the same time (but we put it in a storage cell for 3 years, and now it's slow :/)

I personally like iOS and the security it offers, as security is a big priority to me, but priorities differ. Every man to their own but don’t go for that $1k phone

Messenger would be iMessage for Android.
The way I see it, having multiple video call platforms is only a good thing. Discord, of course, but there's also Hangouts (made by Google, comes as default on many devices) and Duo (also made by Google). And Skype, as well, but no one uses that.
AirDrop on Android is literally just Bluetooth. I can share pictures, audio, video, etc. from my tablet to any other Android or Windows device (maybe Apple, haven't tried).
I've never used Messenger, so I don't know if it's smooth, but I've had better experience with Google Hangouts than with FaceTime, and better experience with the default Bluetooth sharing in Android than with AirDrop.
And Apple's app store is not secure, neither is the Mac Store. https://appleinsider.com/articles/1...-in-mac-app-store-that-are-stealing-user-data https://us.norton.com/internetsecur...nfects-millions-of-apple-store-customers.html[DOUBLEPOST=1557407116][/DOUBLEPOST]

But I agree, don't go for a 1k phone lmao, anything over $500 is horribly overpriced.

1.) Google is shutting down Hangouts; don't get it.
2.) AirDrop sharing is as smooth as can be and so is iMessage.
3.) The articles you shared were from over a year ago and are no longer incredible/outlandish threats in the community.
4.) Regardless, Android has the same issues and they are — in fact — more vulnerable because of the operating system. Apple, itself, is one with privacy and you feel much safer in the hands of Apple than with Google, who steals & sells your data by the second. Every OS App Store has apps that steal and track your data. That is how free apps make money, they cater their ads based off of what you do.
5.) $1,000 isn't overpriced for the iPhone X. Apple doesn't sell it anymore because it was definitely underpriced if anything.

Basically, it just comes down to the wire of Apple or Android? Android is guaranteed to have many more bugs and privacy/data issues. In my opinion, when you use Apple's products, you begin to feel more accomplished of yourself. I try to surround myself with simplicity in life and that's what Apple is all about. The community is much more vibrant, there are a number of great products to choose from, and the WWDC and announcements are actually pretty fun to watch if you have a reason to watch them.

P.S. Apple doesn't sell the iPhone X anymore, you'd have to find a used one. Therefore, it isn't going to be $1k, only about $700-800.

I think having them all in one space is a good thing because it’s extremely convenient. Messenger =/= iMessage.
Bluetooth sharing I never used when I used to have an LG, I would have to email things to a friend to get them sent to him which is pretty primative.

Nothing is perfect but I can confidently say that most apps I can download on the App Store aren’t collecting Data
