Which phone should I get?

I think having them all in one space is a good thing because it’s extremely convenient. Messenger =/= iMessage.
Bluetooth sharing I never used when I used to have an LG, I would have to email things to a friend to get them sent to him which is pretty primative.

Nothing is perfect but I can confidently say that most apps I can download on the App Store aren’t collecting Data

As for the Bluetooth sharing, maybe yours didn't support it? But then again, I have a 2012 Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 that supports it just fine.

All of my friends on FaceTime, one singular app.

Bluetooth sharing just isn’t convenient I believe mine did support it but I never used it like I use AirDrop

Ah. But again, that's because your friend group used Apple. Mine used Android, and we all were on Hangouts together. For bluetooth, that's just your preference; I don't share files between devices often, but bluetooth works fine for me when I need to.

If you know how to actually operate technology then Android is just as safe as Apple. Apple just prevents idiots from ruining their phone, Android has more of a "You can f up yourself". The only true privacy thing that Apple does have over Android that I know of is Apple has (atleast publicly, they've probably lied) said that when the FBI has asked them for information on a Terrorists Iphone or something then Apple has denied them that.



Our Imessage is our standard messaging platform which works the exact same way it just looks different. We have read reciepts, able to share HQ photos etc, our issue is just that Apple and Android cannot cooperate so our stuff doesnt work well cross platform.

You are right on the FaceTime, that is a thing that Android lacks.

We do actually have our own form of AirDrop but it's a lot more secure. You have to actually tap your phones together as opposed to a stranger two cars down dropping you their phone number.

Google undoubtebly collects your info when Apple literally just denies themself for it, that’s one thing. Another thing is the Google Play store. It’s the default appstore and it’s filled with bloatware and malware. A good amount of ways you can fuck yourself up security wise which I really don’t see happening with an iPhone.

When I say iMessage I mean not just the texting app on it’s own but the integrations with other apps.

A lot of this imo is User Experience because as you said a lot of this you guys have but it’s not as convenient as what Apple offers, especially with the AirDrop one

If you like the OS, that's on you, but coming from personal experience, iOS does not last. My mom's iPhone started having serious issues after 2 years, and our iPad had failures with updating, even though the hardware should've supported it. I've had two Android tablets. This one I currently use has lasted around 4 years, and the one before that lasted around the same time (but we put it in a storage cell for 3 years, and now it's slow :/)

i used an iphone 4 for a year with no issues even though it was an older version at the time, an iphone 5 for about 2.5 years with no issues whilst it also was an older device, and am currently running a three year streak with my iphone 7. i have a second generation ipad that i don’t really use anymore but when i do, it still works well, of course slower due to it being overloaded with garbage i downloaded as a kid 6 years ago. my macbook air from 2013 still works like a charm and i never noticed a difference switching from a brand new macbook that was issued by my school. apple has a track record for delivering quality products that will last. of course there are bad devices that get released. if you get one of those bad devices, your experience will dwindle but often times you can ask apple to fix a bad device by going in store even outside of warranty like my brother and mom had to do when their iphone 7’s weren’t working properly.

if you communicate with apple in person there’s a good chance they can help you with the newer devices.

the point of my post was more just to say there are a wide range of quality within devices from a specific brand. my friends samsung s7 shit the bed and was replaced with another that shit the bed so she upgraded to the s9 i believe where she hasn’t had any problems.

we got all 3 taken in at some point, the iphone 8 problems were mostly fixed but the ipad 2 stayed the same and the ipad 1 then literally refused to turn on for 3 years until last month lmao

Also keep in mind Facebook denied selling our info for years, I believe they still do (by trying to word it differently, even though we all know they do). And Google isn't Android, you can go another route if you want, but google is just the more mainstream/easiest way to go. And Apple collects your info as well, and they openly state they sell a small bit of it (for ads on your news section and stuff). Granted, the information they sell compared to Google is probably vastly smaller, but they do sell some of your info. Everything does nowadays, you can't get past it.

For the Google Play Store, i mentioned in another comment my response so I'll just copy and paste it. "I'd find that unsettling, the only stuff about it you find is Apple's official pages on their privacy and stuff. Google atleast publicly says "Hey, this crap was going on the Google Play Store, but we have found it and fixed it." With how insecure even secure things are (everything is hackable, there is always something that can get through whether we like it or not) I'd rather have a company that atleast warns us about it. It seems as though Apple would (hopefully) fix it, but then they just sweep it under the rug and say nothing about it."

Facebook is just as bad. I think security in the smartphone world needs improvement
