I got tired of using bloated cosmetic plugins that are absolute nightmare to configure, lag the server with heavy particle loops, or completely break armor values when players put on custom hats. So, I built CosmeticWardrobe.
It’s designed from the ground up to be lightweight, easy to use, and completely managed in-game.
For the Wings and Trails categories, you can easily customize the particle style in-game or directly inside the config.yml. Inside of the config file are a list of all effects available to use when creating a trail or wings. The plugin fully supports modern, safe particle names (1.20.5 - 1.21.11+) and automatically handles data options for complex particles (like colored dust) so they never crash your console.

- No Armor Bugs: When a player equips a cosmetic hat, it doesn't just delete their helmet protection. The plugin automatically reads their original helmet's armor and toughness values and transfers them using Minecraft’s Attribute system. Once they take it off, they get their actual helmet back. No exploits, no lost gear.
- Add Items in Seconds: You don't have to spend hours editing YAML files. Just open /wardrobe admin, drop any custom item (like a 3D model carrot or a feather) into the hopper slot (or shift-click it), and follow the prompts in chat. The plugin will ask you for a display name (supports color codes), lore lines, and your chosen particle effect, then register it instantly.
- 105 Cosmetics Pre-Configured: The plugin comes pre-configured with 35 Hats, 35 Wings, and 35 Trails. The hats are set up with sequential Custom Model Data IDs (10001 to 10035), making it super easy to link up your custom resource pack models.
- Zero Lag Particles: The wings and foot trails render using optimized, asynchronous vector math that runs every 2 ticks. It looks incredibly smooth in-game but keeps server tick times completely clean.
- Persistent & Stateless: Choices are saved automatically to a lightweight SQLite database, so players don't have to re-equip their cosmetics every time they log in or the server restarts.

- Magical & Glowing: WITCH (purple bubbles), ENCHANT (floating runes), INSTANT_EFFECT (white swirls), GLOW (green-yellow dust), END_ROD (starlight).
- Environment & Fun: HEART (pink hearts), NOTE (musical scales), CLOUD (puffy clouds), CHERRY_LEAVES_SPIT (falling pink cherry petals), BUBBLE (expanding soap bubbles).
- Spooky & Dynamic: SOUL (escaping ghost specters), SCULK_SOUL (sculk particles), TOTEM_OF_UNDYING (golden-green sparks), LARGE_SMOKE (ninja smoke clouds).
Quick Setup:
- Drop the .jar into your plugins folder.
- Restart/reload your server.
- Use /wardrobe to open the selection menu, or /wardrobe admin to manage your items. OPs have full bypass permissions by default.
