Assassins is a lightweight and competitive Paper plugin inspired by the assassin-style events seen on Lifesteal World, but designed to work on any SMP, PvP server, survival world, or event server. It adds a full target-based PvP game mode where every player receives a secret target, hunts that target, earns confirmed kills, and competes to reach the top of the leaderboard.
Instead of normal PvP where every kill can count, Assassins makes the game more strategic. Each player is assigned one specific target. A kill only counts if the victim is the killer’s assigned target. This prevents random killing from deciding the event and makes players focus on tracking, planning, hiding, hunting, and timing their fights.
The plugin is built to run naturally inside a normal SMP world. You do not need a separate minigame setup or custom map. Players can continue playing survival while the assassin event runs in the background. The action bar shows useful target information, players can check their target with commands, and admins can control the event easily.

How It Works
When the event begins, the plugin adds players into the game and assigns every participant a secret target. Players must find and eliminate their assigned target. If they kill the correct target, the kill is confirmed, their kill count increases, the eliminated player is removed from the event, and the killer receives a new target.
If a player kills someone who is not their assigned target, the kill does not count toward the leaderboard. This makes the event more skill-based and prevents players from winning by randomly fighting everyone.
The plugin also handles offline players. If someone leaves during the event, the plugin can reassign targets so players are not stuck hunting someone who is no longer online.
