Hey everyone, OneMc team here!
We’ve been cooking up something special for the next update, and honestly, we just couldn't wait to share it with you.
Let's be real—vanilla fire in Minecraft has always felt a bit... underwhelming. You can light an entire forest on fire, and all you get are a few sad little smoke pixels floating into the air. We wanted to change that and make fire feel like an actual, dangerous force of nature. Welcome to the Wildfire.
Here is what we added:
- Massive, Swaying Smoke Columns Fire blocks now generate huge, dense pillars of dark smoke that reach high into the sky. And it’s not just a static particle effect—the smoke actually sways and drifts as if it's being blown by the wind, spreading out into a massive cloud at the top. It looks absolutely epic from a distance.
- We Protected Your FPS Now, you're probably thinking: "Great, my server is going to explode." Nope! We spent hours writing a custom clustering algorithm. If a whole forest is burning, the plugin doesn't spawn particles for every single fire block. Instead, it groups them together into one optimized, giant plume. You get all the cinematic drama with zero lag.
- It Fades Away Naturally One detail we really love: when a fire burns out, the smoke doesn't just awkwardly pop out of existence. The massive smoke cloud physically detaches from the ground and slowly drifts away into the sky until it vanishes.
- Steam & Rain Physics Ever put out a fire and nothing happens? Yeah, we fixed that too. If you pour water on a fire, or if a rainstorm puts it out, you'll hear a loud HISS and see a massive burst of thick white steam. Lava and magma blocks also react to the rain now, giving off a beautiful ambient steam effect.
- Your Server, Your Rules As always, you have total control. If the smoke is too massive for your server's vibe, you can easily tweak the height, density, color, and spread right in the config.yml.
Note: This is a BETA module! We really need your feedback to make it perfect. Go load up a test server, burn down a forest (in Minecraft, please!), and let us know how it feels in the comments!
Today is the day we're launching the beta version of this plugin. You can find all the features and more on the main page.
