It is punishing the child. I can't believe you don't think denying a child life is a punishment. And by the way, children feel pain very early in development.

Rape is terrible but an exception for rape will lead to everyone saying they were raped.

If you make it extra hard make it mandatory to press charges. (Even tho this would be a punch in the face for a lot of rape victims)

Let me clarify: what you are saying is that people should have to get tested with a rape kit in order to get an abortion? If so, rape kits only work for a very short time after sex. In this timespan people could just use Plan B, which I fully support as it's before conception. (Most people don't know this, but conception takes several days. The sperm has to go through many chemical changes before being implanted in the egg.)

I am saying your argument of everybody pretending to be raped to get an abortion is wrong since you could make it mandatory to have to get tested for rape.
(This completely misses the point tho that a policy like this is not good for rape victims)
Also conception only takes multiple days depending on how you define conception:
- Male and female genetical code mix and create the unique baby. (24h)
- The egg implants itself into the uterus (6 days)
A majority of rape claims are false. They don't care.
