Trump is just as toxic as his followers. He has a long history of racism and other shit.

I heavily disagree on the "rather intelligent" part. Trump is the farthest thing from an 'intellectual'. He is a complete buffoon.

Sanders is pretty logical.
1. alright, i haven't really looked into it because i don't care about politics but whatever. don't think he's racist, just think he says whatever comes to mind and it sounds bad almost always
2. he's a, what, billionaire? he's also president? it's highly unlikely you'll become either of these things, much less both, without being a smart individual.
3. socialism is just as bad as capitalism

  1. It's bad for our democracy to spread misinformation if you "don't really care about it". Better off just staying quiet then.
  2. What you're describing is a common logical fallacy known as a non sequitur: "Trump is president; therefore, he must be smart." Trump's wealth was inherited, not earned, and he's gone bankrupt multiple times, always relying on his daddy to give him more money. A smart person doesn't act the way he does, nor do they go bankrupt 4 times. He's nothing more than a con artist (look up his Trump University scam, holding fake charities for funds that would go into his business, inflating property value, a lot of other shit). And he has unfortunately successfully conned a lot of Americans.
  3. You're getting a little hung up on labels there. We have a mixed economic system currently. Look past the subjective labels and look into the actual policies and details.
Sanders is just as much of a lunatic as Trump is.
I'd love to hear your argument.

1. saying he is or is not toxic can't be classed as misinformation because it's an opinion
2. he inherited a lot and earned a lot. nuff said
3. my point is, all the candidates are garbage, all economic systems are garbage, and no matter who you support, we're doomed.

The man who praised communist dictators like Fidel Castro and the man who has proven to have a lack of understanding when it comes to basic economic principles is a logical candidate? Right... There are so many better candidates on both sides of the political spectrum that would better suit America. Bernie has no place in politics anymore and in a few years he’ll croak over.[DOUBLEPOST=1575652605][/DOUBLEPOST]

The media has spread far more misinformation over the past few years than Trump ever has. (That includes networks catering to both sides.)

He's definitely smart, but I'd say it's more through sheer force of personality than intelligence in the traditional sense. He knows exactly what people want and he plays to it perfectly. It's only this support that keeps him in office despite numerous documented crimes.

I would dispute him being a billionaire though, for a decade he was literally the worst businessman in America.

Also: socialism taken to its extreme is clearly not going to work, but parts of it are beneficial to any capitalist society - free healthcare and free education are two socialist ideas that have been proven to work over and over again.

I think the House will impeach Trump, but he will be acquitted by the Senate as Bill Clinton was. There's just isn't a 2/3 majority in the Senate to approve the proceedings.
you do A level politics as well?

1. agree
2. billionaire was just a guess; all i know is that he's rich
3. i've never seen a socialist society that works, but yeah both of those have worked out well in places like canada and the uk so why not here right

The man who praised communist dictators like Fidel Castro
Bernie "praised" Castro for giving people healthcare and education — two things he's been consistently supportive of for over 30 years. What's the issue with that? If the only thing you can bring up is a 1985 video that's taken out of context, then you're scraping at the bottom of the barrel.
and the man who has proven to have a lack of understanding when it comes to basic economic principles is a logical candidate?
Your accusation that Bernie "lacks knowledge of basic economic principles" is completely unfounded, given his years of experience and how complex and detailed his proposals are. Ultimately, Bernie understands that $5 means a great deal more to a poor man than to a rich man. And Bernie understands that most of the wealth in the system is distributed unfairly to the rich and to corporate behemoths. Even if some of his economical plans are too hopeful, he understands the core issues and wants to challenge them as aggressively as possible, and he's got a great track record of fighting corruption.

In comparison to someone like Trump, Bernie is very, very consistent in his ideas and very serious about getting things done. I trust him far more than the other candidates.

It's quite ironic how you're talking about the media spreading misinformation when you're literally smearing Bernie for no real reason, just like the corporate media tends to do.

I certainly don't disagree that the mainstream media can say a lot of misleading things and withhold a lot of information from viewers, but Trump literally contradicts himself in every other statement. You also passively defend him as if you are a Trump supporter. If you support Trump, then that says enough for me and arguing with you is futile.

Agreed. The only thing he's smart at is playing people. He's been a con artist his entire life. Nothing more.

the man has made tens of millions from his golf courses and hotel alone. it took me about 30 seconds to find that out. if you can prove he has earned nothing at all, feel free to[DOUBLEPOST=1575766302][/DOUBLEPOST]

Not to imply that you had any real counter arguments to mine, of course.
ally, he did. sloth, it's not because they're a bernie supporter, it's because everyone interested in politics is stubborn no matter what side they're on

I'm not on a "side". I support whoever does the right thing for the largest number of people. Unlike a Trump supporter, I wouldn't support Bernie if he did the wrong things, and there are some of his policies and strategies that I don't agree with.

Rather than looking at this like there's sides to pick like the typical ignorant voter operating off of emotion and news propaganda, you should maybe look at the proposals and start reading the facts and pick a candidate based on that.[DOUBLEPOST=1575782260][/DOUBLEPOST]

Maybe you should bend over for him more so he and his buddies can get even richer by exploiting the system while the bottom half of America starves to death.

Trump doesn't give a single shit about you. Never has. The very fact that he was always rich to some extent and raised in a rich family as a spoiled kid means that he'll never have any empathy for what the working class has to go through. He thinks the homeless are disgusting. You should stop praising such a terrible, selfish, ignorant person just because they have money.

If you're going to bother saying anything at all, at least say something reasonable and prove me wrong.

At least I'm willing to argue my points.

No one else is. I wonder why.

Why would I waste my time. You wouldn't be willing to change.

We have argued your points, you’re just being too stubborn to see that. What we perceive as right and wrong is solely based on our opinions. Just because you believe Bernie is doing the right thing doesn’t mean that’s the reality we live in. Sure Trump probably doesn’t care about anyone, but do you honestly believe Bernie cares about anyone either? He’s become quite wealthy himself over the years and could care less about us. At this point you’re just spouting Orange Man bad with zero actual facts to support your claims. There are sides in politics and you’ve clearly chosen one...
