Disable the Limiting of Profiles

You can prevent people from posting on your profile.

Negatives:
1. People can't see your reputation, mainly bad if you have been neg'd and are trying to hide it

2. People can't see your past usernames, and you could limit and change and scam more

In all reality, you should have nothing to hide on your profile. Please do not vote disagree just because you have thought so in the past, and if you do rate disagree then post why so a possible solution can be thought of.

As you can see, there is only one REAL positive reason to limit your profile, and the other 2 I have shown to actually be negatives.

Privacy, what are you keeping private? There is literally NOTHING to keep private except for your username history. Are you trying to keep that a secret?

Completely agree, the only valid reasons I see/agree with so far is people abusing the reputation system which may be an issue for some people due to them not lending/giving services and an addition to help with the current account situation. Other then those two issues, there is no information on a profile that needs to be private as Reputation should be displayed to begin with (whether given falsely or not), commenting can be limited/deleted and the rest of the information under a profile is nothing of significance/in need of remaining private. It's better for everyone's sake to have clarity rather then shadiness when it comes to buying/selling especially with the type and quantity of deals that go down.

As others have pointed it out is possible to still get to people's profiles, but it's definitely more difficult to do.

I will move this to pending to potentially be changed in the next update, but we'll see how things go.

Chearful, every reason you provided to disable your profile was proven stupid and pointless here. MCM has no place for total privacy brought out through disabled profiles. People have every right to all information located on a profile without having denied access.

This will be added in the next update or the update after. There are a bunch of pending suggestions and I'd like to sort out all of the resource suggestions first.

This goes along with a post I made on a different suggestion thread talking about legislating stupidity. If someone makes their profile private and you don't like that, don't deal with them. To me, that's just common sense.

There is literally no reason to complain about it or for MCM to change anything. I haven't done business on this forum for a while and don't care to have other people see my profile for that reason. If I plan to start doing business on this forum again, then I would change that if people wanted to see my profile.

Stop this non-sense. If someone doesn't want to share their stuff and you think they are hiding something, then you shouldn't be working with them. If you decide to work with them anyway, then it's your own fault for taking that risk.

If it's a risk then is it not reasonable for MCM to try and decrease that risk? We're a marketplace, why should you be able to make your information harder to find?
