Im actually developing mega ultra super duper crazy hard as fuck faction, or better yet known as musdchasffSuper-Hardcore Factions
Super-HCF
Its hcf... ;3
I recently sold a unique gamemode, not sure if it successfully launched, but I mean, it's thereMinecraft servers always have a bunch of circulating gamemodes, be it factions, kitpvp, skyblock, prison, etc.
But recently, I'm trying to think of one, has a new style of server been released? Doesn't have to be the most popular one, just curious if there is anything new and fresh on the market.
It does seem neat, but I've always had a big question about MMORPGs in minecraft. Lemme know if you have discord cause I wanna ask a question or 2.I'm working with a team on a brand new MMORPG. If you are interested in that?
Two years of development and thousands have been spent already. A pre-alpha will hopefully launch this year.

Yup, we do. If you want mine personally: Aekalix#8582, server discord: https://discord.dyescape.com/It does seem neat, but I've always had a big question about MMORPGs in minecraft. Lemme know if you have discord cause I wanna ask a question or 2.
Looks cool. Now will it be incredibly pay to win is the real question. If you know how Runescape works where member items can only be used in member worlds so it doesn't effect F2P players, that'd work. Or like Wizard101 where members get access to more areas in the world. But otherwise, you'd not get nearly as many players than if it were not P2W.I'm working with a team on a brand new MMORPG. We are an official company already, so we are obliged to follow the EULA. Our server will not be pay to win, neither are you paying entrance fees or anything alike. Yes, we have a website. But all our development updates are through Discord. https://www.dyescape.com/.Looks cool. Now will it be incredibly pay to win is the real question. Also do you have a website yet?

Why not ask here?![]()
Been sitting in the dyescape discord for months waiting for it to launch, and must say, Aeky is 100% truthful. Check it out - won't be disappointed if you want something good to play when it launches. We are an official company already, so we are obliged to follow the EULA. We think we will be fine even if our server is not pay2win. We have 350 people in our discord and we have not even launched yet. We've also already received donations to help us develop this. There is a lot to talk about. We have features never been seen before. We put our heart and soul into this project. Feel free to check it out
Also, feel free to ask me anything.
I remember you joining, been a while again, haha. Thanks for the support. I am definitely aiming to release this year but all is uncertain. We rather have something that takes a longer and that blows you away then some half-assed game.Been sitting in the dyescape discord for months waiting for it to launch, and must say, Aeky is 100% truthful. I agree, complete is better than half-assed any day. I'm just sitting back and waiting to alpha testI remember you joining, been a while again, haha. Thanks for the support. Oh I didn't realize he was talking about Dyescape, whoops. Yeah, we had this chat on this thread.Hello! Owner & Lead Developer of Dyescape here (the project Aeky mentioned). I can assure you that Dyescape will never, ever become pay2win. In my eyes, pay2win is an issue within many games nowadays and I find it an extremely disgusting way of earning money. I think we at Dyescape are one of the few servers out there that actually agrees with the EULA and understands why it was implemented. Ofcourse, some things in the EULA will always remain a little over the top and overkill, but we do strongly agree that everyone on the server should be equal and you should not be able to gain any gameplay advantage over the other players just because you like to spend money (let's use EA as a prima example of what not to do).
However, do not worry; our team is very creative and we have come up with a massive list of purchasable items already which are 1) EULA friendly and 2) still very interesting (not your plain old cosmetics like every other server). I would highly suggest you to join the Discord server if you haven't already (https://discord.dyescape.com) so you can better interact with the community and team revolving around our project.
As already mentioned by Aekalix , I would highly suggest to join the Discord server. You can always ask the members within our community or management every question you have. Everything we do is well thought out and everything we do has a reason behind things. We should be able to answer any question to have.
Well; Our spell system is the same as any other MOBA. You press a button and it activates. No complexity in that. But, to add a lot more depth for the more serious players we allow you to switch between rows of skills. Look at this gif for example https://gyazo.com/3f703aac57cc61e3750352d98c50d2a6. (Spell system was changed slightly, including a delay on all your skills if you use one to prevent macroing.) You have 5 skills which you set for yourself. You can press the numbers 1-5 on your keyboard to activate them. (We disabled your scroll) But if you scroll to the left, you are able to switch your spell row. Meaning you will have 5 brand new spells to use. For the more serious player, this can bring a lot more to the table. If you scroll right, you open a minimap. If you press 9, you open your player GUI.Dyescape looks like it's being quality made, and I don't have a question about that side of things at all. My question is more with MMORPG servers as a whole in minecraft. In my opinion, I've never seen an MMORPG server take off in minecraft, despite how popular the game genre actually is, and how much players recognize games like world of warcraft.
But the issue comes into play with how "complex" MMORPGs are. They aren't complex in the sense that they take all the game knowledge in the world, but they ARE significantly more complex then any popular minecraft gamemode out there. Things like factions, skyblock, kit pvp, etc just take elements of the base game and arrange them to make them just a little bit more unique/complex. This works for the minecraft demographic. You don't need to teach younger people how to play the base game when they join your server, they just know. But once you start introducing new elements, and making a truly unique and fun experience, it becomes muddled all the features the player doesn't understand, doesn't care to understand, or will never play for long enough to enjoy.
The reason certain "base" gamemodes like factions has become so radically different (think of the modern faction server setup and what goes into it) is because they have evolved overtime. They have been around for long enough to have a steady course of natural evolution with increasing complexity. A player won't need to learn how to play factions because it is assumed they already know how to play it.
That's why I question everytime a super cool looking MMORPG server comes up. I think that joining a server that the player literally doesn't know what to do on because it's so unique drives them away. Keep in mind, the player isn't downloading a new game where he expects that experience.
So, to conclude, I want to emphasize that there is nothing wrong with the server itself, I just question if it's being made for the right demographic.
^^ Please reply to this, discuss this, etc. I want to know what you guys think about it. I want to have a conversation.
