I got one of my turtles from an Chinese woman in china town, Chicago -- got my other turtle from reptilecity.com. You can just go to your local turtle farm and take a hand full though :3

TurtleShack wouldn't let me buy one because they are "illegal" in my state... turtleshack can suck it.

Vouch. My turtle now works at the local mc donalds keeping the mice away. Turned him from the traditional herbivore diet to carnivore. He eats 3 pounds of steak a day.
