So at the moment you can't buy or sell cape codes (yeah I just saw that suggestion). That just triggers me even more. Why, exactly, are we not allowed to buy and sell cape codes? Why can't premium or supreme members do it or something like that. Thats just stupid, because a lot of us want cape codes or are planning to buy them and with MCM making that rule it makes us go out of our way to find somebody instead of just saying "Hey looking to pre-order a cape code hit me up!!" In SB. If we can't sell cape codes why can we sell cape accounts? In fact cape codes have less of a scam rate than cape accounts and og accounts if you know how to use them because you can just put them on the account you want and then pay and the person will have no way of taking it back, so if you are dealing with a sketchy person just make them go first and you will be fine. Idk though what are your thoughts mcm?

I love this idea, don't get me wrong, but an extremely secure system would have to be put in place. If this could be made to work, perfect :)
Follow up on this: This would allow anyone to buy your code, right? Then they could charge back and still have the cape. Found a flaw Ninja1

Like 5 postive rep, at least 3-5 months on the forum (since cape codes generally sell for $200+ it may have to be bigger than the investment section). I know a lot of us don't have much rep even though we are very reputable, so maybe we could base it off something else[DOUBLEPOST=1473088906][/DOUBLEPOST]
also 300-500 posts minimum because then it wouldn't be a bunch of members that wait for 5 months and have like 3 posts and aren't involved in the community at all
Or possibly in the form users can set their own requirements for buying their particular code? I'd like that better honestly

The same could be said for a $200 OG account w/o TID, my system doesn't take caution/trust out of the picture.

Other than requirements + scam report acceptance, as the others mentioned, nothing I can do to combat that.
Wait, so how exactly does the system work? If the code is in the system it makes it seem like an auto buy sorta thing. So does the deal still have to be done manually? Right after they pay I could just redeem the code.

Yeah that would be better, if somebody really doesn't care to sell to new members, thats their business, but if somebody like me wants to sell to somebody with more rep than I can do that. Also we could say things like "There could be exceptions to this rule, please PM me if you think you have enough rep to buy this code from me but you don't meet the technical requirements"

Okay, I'm going to decide to sell my code(s) to a new member because I want to quick sell and get rid of it init. *sets it so new members can buy* alright!

X DAYS LATER

Alright! I found a buyer woohoo! Now let's see. New member? Eh, well I put new members on the thread why not?

Exchange goes through

Cool! $200 in the bank!

next day

oh shiat he chargedback f&f (you can do that by calling paypal)

scam report created

more work for m6

note: created this really quickly, just wanted to show my opinion/thoughts on it. I want cape codes implemented but just wanted to show something about why we should have set requirements not custom like investments and loans etc.

No work for m6 whatsoever considering doge would handle it but k. Also yeah thats your problem to set it to new members you certainly don't have to and I wouldn't recommend it[DOUBLEPOST=1473089611][/DOUBLEPOST]
Thanks for your input doubt, what do you think about the system Ninja suggested?

It was then he realized the idea was flawed. Or is it?

The thing this would do is make sure the scammer has to have $150-$300 worth of material (a cape code) before being able to scam.

It would take at least 2 scams for the scammer to profit (initial investment + 1 scam = break-even). That kills the chances of the scammer redeeming the code.

And by the time the scammer goes around for the second scam, the moderators would have already provided the code to the buyer and/or banned the code from being sold on mcm.

Not a perfect idea - but it helps.
Oh okay, so if someone scammed that code could never be in the system again? I like the sound of that, definitely better than nothing. I guess there's just no foolproof way really.

They were removed due to the copious amount of scammers joining and claiming they have cape codes.

Here's how I can see this working:

1. Subforum under "Minecraft Accounts" - "Cape Codes"
2. Posting requirements are Premium along with certain account age.
3. The form would be something like:
"Cape Type"
"Proof of ownership" (email, minecon attendance pics etc)
"Description"

Also, the best way to safely deal is for the buyer to state the username and provide the account details and the seller to redeem it and record the process.
