I think we should put the account section back. Its important and we STILL do trades over skype. I dont think why we should discourage it. Every account seller/buyer is still working. Just not on McM. We can make MCM much better.

As Ajdin said he would listen to the community, lets gather support for this!

Mclaim.net can be made a requirement.

I'm sure Jack would be willing to push out updates regularly.
This might not be the right way to go. There are many other wars of proving that one owned an account. These methods are safer from the prying eyes of Mojang. If I were a Mojang employee tasked with locking accounts and I came across McClaim, knowing it's a requirement to post accounts on there to sell, would lock every account on the site.

I'm not protecting account sales or anything but I'm pretty sure Mojang and Microsoft won't rely on a 3rd party website.

People have this wrong idea thinking Mojang cares about MC-Market and hires people to browse it. That's not true.

No they really don't care. I myself never posted to McClaim and never will. Even if that means I cannot sell accounts. Is it possible they won't take notice to the site? Sure, is it possible they will, sure again. The classic way of providing proof never failed if users used caution when going into a deal.[DOUBLEPOST=1459983833][/DOUBLEPOST]I do think it should be moderated more though.

You said it yourself and I quote "I won't be running it, the community will" If were running it how come you don't just implement it back in the people clearly want it and the proof is in the pudding. Don't go back on your own word!

A president claims the same thing during a campaign speech. Does that mean he let's people come into the white house and make governmental decisions? Nope xD

No, this is what I meant:
I will be just executing things the community wants to see(within reason of course).
That's from my announcement.

Just because you guys have a suggestion thread that says "Demote all current staff", that doesn't mean I should do it. I still make the final calls but I take suggestions very seriously.

Oooh boy, here we go with my official statement. I'm honestly ready for all the disagrees.

This is one of those suggestions that has to be thought about very seriously. All pro's and con's should be weighted and the final decision is still my call. And I make calls for what I think is the best for MC-Market's future.

As of right now, I still haven't found a good concept of bringing accounts back. I'll address a bunch of concept's below.

  1. "Bring accounts back but don't allow scam reports for it.".

Okay, so. Let's bring accounts back and it doesn't matter if you scam or not since you basically can't get punished if you do. This basically means we won't ban scammers at all and people would throw around accusations and start riots. And honestly, we wouldn't be able to do anything about it. So that's already a no-go.

  2. "Bring accounts back but allow scam reports for it."

Okay, your account gets locked. Now what? Did the user take it back? Did Mojang lock it? You'll never know what actually happened and there's no real official way to prove it. Sure, there's this method you can use on Mojang's login page but that's not something that'll stay forever and we can't rely on it.

  3. "Add ratings requirements to the account selling sections"

Some of you guys really need to realize ratings mean absolutely nothing on this forum when it comes to selling/buying. It surely shouldn't disallow other users from visiting a certain section.

  4. "Make accounts Premium/Supreme only".

This is something I personally thought about in the past and I don't really think it's a solution. If you want to scam a OG account for $50, even after buying Premium you still have $35 over. Let's also not mention this would result in a bunch of chargebacks on my personal account due to ban evaders and exit scammers. Donating doesn't make you any less of a scammer.

  5. "But the forum is gonna die without accounts".

MC-Market won't die within the next few years even if I make the worst moves. We're the forum that's one of it's kind with this amount of users.
Average monthly posts have decreased by a 23% since the removal accounts. Does this mean RIP MCM? Not at all. This was expected as MC-Market's most active section was that.

Also, this isn't an argument you can use if you want accounts back

  6. "Allow scam reports if someone let them pay and took off with the money."

So now we have to be picky about scam reports? No. MC-Market won't allow any kind of scammers.

  7. "Allow accounts but put a huge warning note"

This brings us back to point 1. We'd still allow scammers on the site.

  8. Account sales are unethical in my opinion.

I'm not sure. Most of you guys are okay with it. You don't realise people paid actual money for accounts and you're just taking it away straight out of their hands. Sure you can say, "But dude, unmigs are old and the owner probably forgot about the account." - Just because something isn't used by someone, doesn't make it okay for you to go to steal it.
I'll be honest, I was very optimistic about adding accounts but I see no actual way of doing so without running into a lot of issues.
It's not even about scamming anymore. It's about the accounts section being very unreliable. Accounts get locked left and right and there's no way to avoid it. I try my hardest to provide a safe, reliable and easy marketplace forum and adding accounts back would only go against what I'm trying to achieve.
I'm sure I'll get a lot of hate for this post but it is what it is. Most of you guys don't care about what happens with the accounts. You're all trying to make a quick buck.

I'm not going to close this thread. However, I'm going to put this thread under moderating every reply. I'll only allow responses that actually contribute to the suggestion and that actually help with finding a good solution for this. So don't even try to post things like "lol you'll kill mcm" because that's the last thing I want to do.

This isn't me rejecting. This is me telling you guys that there's no good solution in my eyes.

Post a constructive, helpful and non-repeating reply.

Also, on your second point I believe Doge stated earlier on the post that he discovered a means of proving if an account got locked. He is a mod so you could speak to him about this. Also, not all account sellers were trying to make a "quick buck". Some of us had to wait patiently to sell our accounts and when we sold them we always tried to help out buyers with the accounts. Otherwise we'd be banned for scamming. Anyway, the idea that the most scams came from the account section is correct because the account section was the most popular section on the forums. More people, more potential scams. You can't put the blame on accounts. Blame it on those who scammed. It's practically punishing everyone for the actions of scammers.

My proposal: Allow account sales, make solid proof a requirement, maybe have it so that a staff member has to approve threads and make sure it's enough proof. Allow scam reports but maybe recruit another scam resolver to take some of the pressure from m6 IF HE WANTS. Maybe make a solid proof of vouches and have a requirement of 5 vouches?
