Remove profile "gender" from public view

The author of the suggestion thread I mentioned this on trashed his thread to get rid of all of the disagree ratings he acquired.

To restate my previous points, it's being used shamelessly to catfish and gain favor from hormonal teenage boys.
Additionally, the unfortunate females of our forum are harassed with vulgar requests.
Someone's gender should have no relevancy within a marketplace context.

We're all human and members of this community. That's all that should be needed to be known to make fair and respectable comments/transactions with one another.

I'm talking about a site-wide enforced removal of the information from public view.

Its marketing advantage to catfish with gender. Catfishing is only harmful if used in a deceptive manner for relationship purposes.

There are plenty of advertisements that use the generically hot female supermodel to sell products toward men that the product claims to generally enhance their experience with women.

The same happens for the reverse.

As for the vulgar requests toward the female users of this forum, either the staff here implement/enforce a rule toward sexual harassment/comments in the shoutbox or I would advise female users here to not display their gender.

My opinion stands as this:
Catfishing is not harmful if not used in a marketplace manner and outside of relationship contexts. Thus it should be allowed and left alone as a feature for the users who wish to display their gender for anyone to see.

Absolutely not comparable to age which has a high correlation with competency and maturity, and thus has relevance.
Also not quite comparable to location which is not used to curry favor nor have I seen any cases of harassment from it.
Because this is not the case, despite the information not being quite necessary, there's no particularly good reason to remove it.

Tbh, if staff see that people lie about their gender, it should be a suspension for impersonation or something (Idk if that is already a thing.)
And if people harass females, or anyone in that manner, they should be suspended.
Don't put up with petty shit, just shut it down right then and there.
