Hello people

Who am I?
My name is Alex, I'm 20 years old and I'm very interested in the web and everything around it.
I have been studying "networking and system administration" for two years now, and I'm very interested in starting an own hosting "project", which others like to call a "company" on here. (Of course I'm aware some are actual companies.) Anyways, I'm very interested in what "the people" or "you" would like to see in hosting. I see all of these people offering cheaper and cheaper, claiming to have the best hardware on the market, but which of this is true?

What is this thread actually about?
I would like to start a project, based on the user's opinion. With this thread I would like to ask you to give suggestions, then I'll take any suggestion into consideration and eventually build it up to an actual living company. I am wanting to deal with stuff seriously and I in fact do have the budget for this.

How would I like to receive suggestions?
I would simply like you to write out the idea in as much detail as you like, the more reactions (likes, winners, etc..) a post gets, the more chance it will be added. I'm striving to build the ideal hosting for you. The profit does not need to be a ton, since I'm already a very wealthy person. I would just like to gain the experience, and need something to do in my free time.

If you are one of the people that took the time to read all of this, then thank you very much for reading, and I hope you'll leave a suggestion. Any idea counts.

Have a very nice day everyone.

Due to the market being dominated by projects, as you like to call it, there's very often to taxes and salaries involved. This results in pricing being extremely low, and that's understandable since, mostly, the customers that operates their own servers usually don't work and (or) get a salary.
Sounds reasonable, are people allowed to start any of these projects without requesting taxes? As far I've learned, any profit you make yearly, above a certain amount depending on the country, forces you to request users to pay taxes, else you'd be in violation with the law, which would allow them to fine you a big sum of money, or do people on here not know the law and just do as they like? Or am I getting it wrong?

EDIT: Thank you for reading. :)

Well, in Sweden we have a so-called "Hobbyverksamhet" which is basically what you're describing. You don't have to register any company to operate. The threshold is around a thousand bucks. This makes it possible for us to operate without registering a company. As for taxes, you only pay taxes for profits. I believe many companies, including us, make no profit. We strive to do so within a certain time but aren't even close as of today. Everything above goes for Sweden though, I believe many competitors out there actually brake these rules, as they either don't pay taxes or just haven't registered their company. I would also not be surprised if the rules regarding this were stricter in, for example, the US.

Alright thank you for explaining that for me, are you aware of any "project" that was caught doing these fraudulent things, and was in fact fined a bunch of money? Or does this rarely happen?
Do these "$1/gb" projects ever exist for more than a few years? I don't see how people that barely make any profit, would actually enjoy providing reliable services. Especially since in this day and age, we're always told nothing is free anymore. Any idea why they make these project, when they aren't making anything from it in the first place?

I've never seen anyone getting fined for doing this. Mosty isn't in the age to have criminal responsibility either way. About if they last or not, that's very much up to the patience, experience, and budget behind the creator, no matter the age. There's a lot of hosts closing down though.
