Omen
Omen keeps your server alive with automatic world events. It ships with ten events and a scheduler that fires them on its own, so there is always something happening even when no admin is online. You can also start and stop any event by hand from an in-game control panel. Lightweight, fully configurable, and built for SMPs.

How it works
The scheduler picks events from a weighted pool on a timer you set. It respects a minimum player count, a per-event cooldown, and optional quiet hours so events do not fire overnight. Before an event goes live it shows an omen warning with a sound and a boss bar, then the event runs for its set duration and cleans up after itself.



The ten events

• Blood Moon - night falls and waves of mobs spawn around players, with bonus XP per event kill.
• Meteor Shower - meteors fall and leave loot caches where they land. Craters are optional.
• Supply Drop - a marked crate lands with loot and players race to reach it.
• Traveling Caravan - a frozen, invulnerable merchant appears with a few high value trades.
• The Corruption - sculk spreads from seed blocks and the server has to clear it before the timer ends.
• Aurora - an XP multiplier window. Default is double XP.
• Bountiful Harvest - a block drop multiplier window. Default is double drops.
• Mining Contest - score points for ores mined. Top miners win rewards.
• Fishing Contest - score points for what you catch. Top anglers win rewards.
• Harvest Contest - score points for crops broken. Top farmers win rewards.

Features

• Self-running scheduler with weighted random picks, cooldowns, a minimum player gate, and quiet hours.
• Manual control to start, stop, or stop all events from chat.
• In-game admin control panel: a one-click GUI that lists every event with live status. Click an event to start or stop it, and toggle the scheduler from the bottom row. Open it with /omen or /omen gui.
• Omen warnings with a configurable lead time, sound, and boss bar before each event.
• Clickable teleport button on supply drop and caravan announcements, with an anti-spam cooldown.
• Contest leaderboards with rank rewards and participation rewards, run as console commands you define.
• Lifetime player stats for wins and total score, saved to disk on a timer and on shutdown.
• PlaceholderAPI support for the active event, time remaining, and player stats.
• Optional Discord webhook relay for event announcements.
• Every event is tunable: weight, duration, loot tables, mob lists, point values, and rewards.
• Config auto-migration keeps your settings when the plugin updates.

Commands

• /omen - open the admin control panel GUI (aliases: /omen gui, /omen menu, /omen panel).
• /omen list - list every event and its current state.
• /omen status - show the active or next event.
• /omen stats - show your wins and score.
• /omen start <event> [force] - start an event now.
• /omen stop <event|all> - stop one event or all of them.
• /omen scheduler <on|off|toggle> - turn the auto-scheduler on or off.
• /omen reload - reload the config and messages.

Aliases: /omenevents, /oe

Permissions

• omen.use - player features: list, status, stats, and the event teleport. Default: everyone.
• omen.admin - start, stop, scheduler, and reload. Default: operators.

Placeholders

• %omen_active% - name of the active event, or None.
• %omen_active_id% - id of the active event.
• %omen_active_remaining% - seconds left on the active event.
• %omen_player_wins% - the player's contest wins.
• %omen_player_score% - the player's total contest score.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21 to 26.1.2.
• Paper, Spigot, or Bukkit.
• Java 21.
• PlaceholderAPI is optional, for placeholders.

Installation

1. Drop Omen-1.0.0.jar into your plugins folder.
2. Start the server once to generate the config.
3. Edit config.yml to taste, then run /omen reload.
