Introduction


A few months ago, I had an idea to create the best copy of the Minehut / Mineplex PlayerServers plugin and publicly publish it here, on MC-Market. After about two months of development, the first beta called "BETA 1" was released (on May 23, 2020). Since the beginning, PlayerServers was a wonderful plugin providing power for server owners to give their players the ability to create their OWN server - host it until they have players and automatically shut it down to prevent system overload, giving them wonderful tools like Config Editor, Plugin Installer, MOTD Editor and much more... Now, I'm proud to announce that the first "STABLE" version of PlayerServers is finally released! v1.0 is truly the largest update to PlayerServers EVER!

About this update

Since there were no bugs reported from v1.0-RC2, this update is not drastically large... Here are some logs:
  • Removed "port" variable from multinode.toml. It was a variable that I planned to use at the beginning but decided to remove it since the third dev build of v1.0.
  • Updated MultiNode wiki page
Full logs from 1.0:
  • Added messages configuration for Server creation and Global messages. The configuration for ServerKiller and ServerStarter (and other parts of the plugin) will be added in the next build
  • Changed some default messages
  • Optimization on server bootup and server creation parts
  • Messages configuration is in .toml format, which will be used across all my plugins and configuration files in the near future
  • Expect the second developer beta with even more features in not more than two days
  • Edited messages.toml. Please regenerate the messages config as if you use the older one, it may be empty or not working properly. You can find the new messages.toml here.
  • Fixed an issue with messages that prevented the previous version from enabling and using any commands.
  • Added multi-node: false and experimental-rename: false to the config.yml as experimental options
  • PlayerServers MutliNode support is completed. You can sign up as a beta-tester on our Discord here

      • Load balancing - new servers will be created on the node with the smallest number of servers.

  • Performance improvements across the whole plugin.
  • Added the option to rename Servers with /ps rename <new-name>. Experimental and needs to be enabled in the config.

  • General Stability and Performance improvements to PlayerServerCore
  • Fixed issues where users had to type /ps remove more times in order for it to be properly removed.
  • There were some reports of anti-piracy not working as intended. The only reason I could find is the fact I quite possibly uploaded the MCMarket version to Spigot or something... Hope this fixes the issue.
  • Fixed an issue with PSC where when trying to load up plugins manager it does print out an error when there are no plugins in plugins-to-be-added-ingame folder
  • Fixed an issue where /config GUI was limited to 64 items
  • General optimization for PlayerServersCore
  • In the last update, I forgot to change the version number in plugin.yml. This has been fixed now.
  • PlayerServersDaemon will now automatically extract PlayerServerCore to the templates directory. You can download the update from here. Just replace your daemon jar with the new one and you should be ready to go.
  • Minor bugfixes for PlayerServers internal systems
  • Added /ps admin test <nodename> which would test if the connection to the node is successful.
  • You no longer need to have screen installed in order to create servers if multi-node support is enabled.
  • Package & Code organization.
  • Added fallback default messages in order to prevent errors if the messages config is not updated.
  • Added "not-enough-arguments-test" to messages.toml with default content "&9PlayerServers> &7Oops, not enough arguments: /playerservers admin test <node-name>"
  • Fixed an issue preventing the plugin from starting due to it being compiled without a required library
  • Implemented basic backend code for future Pterodactyl support
  • Added pterodactyl-compatibility: false in Experimental options
  • Fixed an issue with the database that seems like it was there for quite a while... Probably even from alpha versions... Seems like UUID-based server names were not working properly because the max length that the database was able to handle as server ID was 25, but UUID contains more than 30 characters. It was not noticed until now as pretty much all the customers were using player names as server UUIDs.
  • Fixed an issue where PSServerCore was not being able to add the server owner OP due to required data not being sent to Daemon (the issue is related only to servers having multi-node support enabled).
WARNING: This is a development build of the new upcoming version - v1.0-STABLE. It contains a lot of new features, but also a lot of bugs and issues, and is not recommended to be used in the production environment. Backing up the files is strongly recommended. Proceed with caution.
