We're Syncore
We create modern websites using new technologies.

Our services

  • Landing Pages | Starting at $300
  • Websites | Starting at $250/page
  • Custom Websites | Contact us for an estimate

What makes us different?

Syncore is a web design firm dedicated to bringing new technologies and ideas like the JAMStack to mainstream website development. By using bleeding-edge frameworks like Gatsby.js, Next.js, and TailwindCSS, Syncore breaks the normal tropes of HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, and jQuery web development and instead provides highly optimized, statically-built websites* with all the features of a monolithic PHP application* or WordPress website without the overhead of server-side rendering* or expensive hosting costs! We believe that statically generated websites* are the future of web development and are both proud and excited to be offering our clients next-generation websites built to serve an ever-growing and evolving userbase.

Our technology stack

  • Gatsby.js
  • TailwindCSS
  • Next.js

Our process
  • Contact us
    • To get started on your next big project you’ll need to first contact us to determine if we are a fit for you! Our contact information is presented at the end of this thread. Our primary methods for communication are e-mail and Discord.
  • Service agreement and upfront cost
    • Prior to commencing a project, a service agreement must be reviewed and signed. This service agreement details the terms of service for the project among methods, practices, and services to-be-rendered. If you are under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian signature is required for this contract.

Syncore works on a fixed-price scheme wherein each project is estimated at a fixed cost and 50% of the estimated cost is paid as an upfront cost.
  • Work begins on project
    • After the service agreement is signed and the upfront cost invoice paid, we’ll will begin work on your project adhering to the services to-be-rendered. We will keep in touch with you either through Discord or e-mail (this is up to your preference). We will also setup a shared Google Drive folder wherein we will upload your signed service agreement, paid invoices, and relevant assets such as mockups, graphics, and content-writing for your review and reference.

This step is the longest step and its deadline is determined by a soft/hard deadline that would have been previously discussed in “Contact us”.
  • Quality assurance review and revisions
    • Prior to delivery, our team will review your website for bugs and entertain any revisions you may have. Our revisions policy is summarized later in this thread.
  • Website delivery and project completion
    • After quality assurance is complete and the final invoice paid, we will hand-off your website distribution files via Google Drive. From here on out you may download the distribution files and upload its contents to your web server, or, you may opt-in to our Managed Websites program (explained later in this thread). Your Google Drive folder will remain accessible even after your project is archived so that you may continue to reference your website’s distribution files, paid invoices, etc.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is the JAMStack?
    • The JAMStack, or Javascript, APIs, and Markup stack is a philosophy in how web development should be done. It encourages the use of static-site generation so as to produce a static, optimized, highly secure website that can be cached in a CDN and serve near-instantly to any user around the globe. JAMStack websites are built with popular JS-frontend frameworks like React or Vue.js and are typically integrated with a headless content management system. The key benefits of a JAM website over a traditional website are speed, security, and low costs for maintenance and hosting.
  • Are JAM websites the same as a regular HTML website?
    • Yes... and no. JAM websites are indeed just regular HTML, CSS, and JS files however they are generated to be production-ready. This means that all files are highly compressed and obfuscated - it is not recommended to make edit to these files directly.
  • Can I modify my make and add content to it?
    • Absolutely! We build our websites to be completely static but we can add a headless content management system to your website as an addon. Our preference is Sanity.io but we can work with GhostCMS, Strapi.io, and even Wordpress.
  • Is the source code provided?
    • No, the source code for the website can be obtained for an additional cost of $50. Please be aware that purchasing the source code will also buy you ownership of the website. You will receive the source code and up-to-date distribution files. Maintenance of the website will be left to your discretion.
  • What payment methods do you accept?
    • Currently, PayPal is the only payment method we support. We use PayPal Express for checkouts and will email you a PDF invoice as a receipt of transaction.
  • What is your revision policy?
    • Each project is allotted 2 hours in free revisions. Afterward we will continue to do revisions at our standard company rate of $35/hr or agreed-to estimate.
  • How are projects managed?
    • Each project will have a shared Google Drive folder created for it. Here we will upload any assets relevant to your project such as mockups, graphics, images, and copywriting. These folders will also contain your signed service agreement and paid invoices for your reference. Once the project is completed and depending whether or not you’ve opted for Managed Websites, we will upload your website’s distribution files to the Drive folder. This folder will remain accessible even after your project is completed so that you may reference files, assets, or documents whenever needed.

Additional services

    • Managed Websites | $36/yr
    • Website Audits | $20
Let's get in touch

We used some key terms in the "What makes us different?" section that we would like to further define below for those who were curious about what they mean. Key terms were highlighted and given an asterisk:

statically-built websites
These are websites that are just plain HTML, CSS, and JS like any other "normal" website you would see. What makes a statically-built website special is that they are cheap to host, they can be deployed to a content-delivery network (CDN) to reduce load times, their assets can be highly compressed to increase performance, they are inherently secure, and ultimately they can be deployed to any web server.

***A content delivery network is a cluster of nodes around the world that hold a version of your website and serve it to the nearest user who is requesting your website. For example, if someone in Tokyo is trying to access your website, they will be served your website the Tokyo node almost instantly. Compare this to a traditional web server which would have to serve that Tokyo request from wherever the server is located, the further the server the longer the load times. A CDN's main benefit is that it cuts load times for user's across the globe.
monolithic PHP application
When we say "monolithic PHP application" we mean 3 things specifically:
  1. The app is written in PHP
  2. It is hosted on a traditional web server
  3. It handles your backend and frontend for you (hence monolithic)
Apps like these are a trope of early modern web development - from the late 2000s to now. WordPress is a definitive example of a monolithic PHP app. The primary issue with these monolithic apps and what the JAMStack is trying to resolve is the overhead that comes with maintaining, hosting, and customize a monolithic app. Given that the app controls so many aspects of your website like rendering the frontend, having a built in theme, requiring X amount of RAM in a server and Z amount of processing power, it would appear that you are fighting against the app to get any customization out of it. Fact of the matter is, PHP monolithic apps are built to act the same across all deployments and are very hard, if not, impossible to fully customize - that's where the JAMStack steps up to offer the same benefits as these apps but with more ability to customize in order to create a website that's particularly unique to you and your brand.
server-side rendering
We mentioned earlier that monolithic PHP applications will handle your frontend for you. It is likely that these applications use server-side rendering to do that. This rendering method means HTML, CSS, and JS are generated on the server. This can be costly and slow depending on the speed of the server and the distance of your connection to that server. It also implies that you have to pay a hosting provider to "keep the lights on" 24/7 so that your server can sit and await requests from visitors, even during downtimes!

An alternative rendering method is to use static files, which is the approach a statically-built website takes. Instead of server-side rendering the same HTML, CSS, and JS every visitor to your website will receive, why not just deploy it to a global CDN? This is a much cheaper option and you get the benefits of using a CDN to decrease the load times of your website for users around the world!
