I do /mangaddv Owner prefix [Owner] and nothing changes. And it is the same for all other groups.

Any idea on what I need to fix?

Quite honestly, I suggest changing to PermissionsEX. I feel the plugin works better and is simply easier to use. I haven't worked with group manager in awhile, but are you not able to add/edit/change groups in the config?

Yeah I've tried that too but no prefixes show in the chat still.

Hmm, interesting. If it is not to late, I suggest changing to PEX. You will be more than satisfied with how well the plugin works.

EDIT: What essentials chat plugin are you using? Send me the link to the one you have.

Well, I guess I could try using pex but I've been using group manager since 2013 and I tried using it again after a long break which has lead to this error. I

Will the learning curve for pex be hard? Especially after being so used to group manager?

Shouldn't be. It's quite simply.

/pex user {name} group add (group)
/pex groups
/pex group (rank) create

It's very simple, there are a ton of tutorials and blogs on how it works, how to use it, and just general knowledge.

CraftyKenny#0001 if still needed. And I recommend that you use LuckPerms over GroupManager.

Why not luckperms?

It may be a good idea to begin using DeluxeChat and using the vault prefix placeholder for the prefixes. Make sure you /manuadd <player> <rank> for the prefix you've set to be shown. You can add sub-groups to people with /manuaddsub <player> <rank> to give them permissions. I'm a GroupManager user myself, had no reason to change to PermissionsEx or LuckPerms or anything.
I would also recommend changing things in the actual groups.yml file and not do it command based.
