HydraMC Network

HydraMC is a competitive network which aims to give users the chance to enjoy the game. Currently, two game modes are in WIP: SMP and Tycoon; both are semi-custom developed and contain unique aspects to play around with. These positions are currently voluntary; this may change in the future.

Available Positions:

Helper: Provide basic support, answer general questions asked by players, and deal with chat-sided punishments.

Moderator: Provide the same support as Helper as well as deal with in-game punishments that may include warnings and temporary bans.

Senior Moderator: Provide the same support as a Moderator in addition to guiding the lower members of staff.

Admin: Deal with more serious punishments in-game and on Discord, deal with punishment appeals.

Manager: Manage the staff team, create documents for the network; this position is a major communication point between the network and Ownership.

Requirements:
  • Be at least 14 years old
  • Be mature and professional where required
  • Must have a Discord account
  • Must have a full-access Minecraft account
  • Must remain active and engaged on the network

Developer Application for Custom Plugin Development, Optimization and Integration

Hello HydraMC,

I am reaching out to apply for a Developer / Technical Staff position on your Network.

Rather than relying purely on pre-existing third-party plugins or off the shelf configurations, I build custom solutions, maintain server stability, and resolve technical issues directly at the source code level.

🛠️ Technical Capabilities & Expertise
Custom Plugin & Feature Development: Experienced in writing clean, performant Java plugins (Paper/Spigot/Arclight) and configuring custom mechanics, GUIs, event listeners, and data persistence setups.

Modding & Version Porting: Proficient in Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge ecosystems, including porting mods across major versions and handling server side recipe injections or custom logic.

Performance Tuning & Optimization: Skilled at identifying timing issues, memory leaks, and server tick bottlenecks to ensure smooth TPS during high player counts.

Database & Third Party Integrations: Capable of bridging game servers with external APIs, Discord bots, and webhooks for automated logging, player stats, or transaction tracking.

⚙️ Development Workflow & Best Practices
Staging & Mock Testing: I never test raw code on a live production server. I test all new mechanics and logic in isolated staging environments to ensure zero uptime impact for players.

Clean Version Control: All work is tracked using Git/GitHub, ensuring clean commit histories, easy rollbacks, and straightforward collaboration with other team members.

Rapid Bug Turnaround: I take a structured approach to debugging reproducing issues via server logs, applying targeted patches, and documenting changes clearly.

📁 Codebase & Portfolio

Thank you Sunny E ,

Unfortunately, for the time being, we are not looking for any Developers at the network as we focus on bringing on more moderation-based staff. In the future, should we need any qualified members to join the development team, I will let you know. If you want to ensure you are one of the first people to know about it, head over to the Discord, as that will be a great way to keep up to date with any open positions we have. Thank you for your interest. I wish you the best of luck!

Kind Regards,
- Casper
