Hello,

I am currently brainstorming a Backup Plugin solution that will backup your Minecraft Data securely and reliably. For the low cost of $5/mo you will be able to backup as many Minecraft Servers as you like with Unlimited Backup Storage. Currently I have brainstormed the following features for the plugin:
- Easy commands to backup/restore your server
- Easily Schedule Backups of your Minecraft Server Data
- Web Interface on a website to upload/download/view your backed up data
- Simple Plugin Setup and Installation
- Potentially backup your MySQL data as well

The core idea I am going for, is that it is easy to use, and requires as little configuration as possible. I am looking for the Minecraft Community's feedback and any suggestions. Is this something the Minecraft Community is looking for?

Thanks!

Update:
Future Features that may be Incorporated:
- Sync Functionality in addition to Backups

Can't you just make a script for all of this?
As well most Hosting Providers already give this service out with no charge; however if you're offering extensive backups with nearly instant support and Backups upto every 4 - 6 hours, then people would most likely buy this; however you'd have to increase however much you're charging.

You are correct, Hosting Providers do provide this. This may be for some people a contingency plan where in the case the hosting provider fails to provide backups or within a acceptable time (at your judgement) you can easily backup/restore at your desires. Furthermore, I am going to try to make this as simple for the end user to do on their own without the need for support. However, support will always be available to the customer.

Basically it depends if he can make like a panel with managing the backups through out the plugin, and enabling where they can customize the time.

I will look into linking the plugin, and any scheduling changes you make to it appear in the website control panel as well. Initially, scheduling was only going to be visible from in-game configuration, but I will now look into integrating the two. I am going to try to maximize its effectiveness along with all its features while keeping it low resource intensive for the hosting provider. Especially if customers are going to run hourly backups, which may impact the performance of the hosting provider's servers.

And at that point why would I trust him with my data.

Yes, trust is a major issue these days, from data leaks, data being sold, and new regulations governing data collecting organizations. I am going to build this solution to be compliant with GDPR, and other data regulating laws and being as transparent as possible to the customer. Furthermore, when I release, I will not only offer a 30-day money back guarantee, but also a data protection and security guarantee.

Every single service on the internet has that problem. If you back it up on a dedicated server, the server could go down. Back it up on google drive or your desktop, something can happen with either of those. You just trust that they won't go down.
