Duello
Duello adds ranked 1v1 duels to your server. Challenge another player, both of you pick a kit, and you fight it out in an arena while the plugin handles the countdown, the round, wagers, and an ELO rating that moves after every ranked match.
Built for: Survival, SMP, and any server that wants competitive PvP without a separate minigame plugin.
Kits
Duello ships 3 starter kits (Classic, Diamond, Archer) so duels work the moment you install it, and the kit menu lets a challenged player pick their loadout before the match starts. Server owners can build their own kits in-game by holding items and running /duel kit save, no config editing needed.
Ranked ELO ladder
Every ranked win or loss moves both players' rating. New players start at 1000, and the rating swing per match is set by a configurable k-factor. Players climb through 7 tiers, from Bronze to Grandmaster, and /duel top opens a leaderboard menu showing the highest-rated players on the server.
Wagers
Players can stake currency on a duel through Vault. The stake is held until the match ends, then paid to the winner, with a configurable minimum and maximum so a server can control how much is ever on the line.
Arenas and spectating
Set up as many arenas as you want with /duel arena setspawn, and Duello sends each match to a free one automatically. Other players can watch a live duel with /duel spectate without getting in the way, and a player who disconnects mid-duel is restored safely, kit and inventory included, the next time they log in.
Best of 1, 3, 5, or 7
A challenger can ask for a single round or a full series up to best of 7, with a short countdown before each round and a break between rounds in a series.

config.yml covers the countdown length, challenge expiry, default and max rounds, the ELO starting rating and k-factor, wager min/max and currency name, leaderboard size, ladder tiers and their colors, sounds, and an optional Discord webhook that posts ranked results. All player-facing text is in messages.yml with full MiniMessage support. Run /duel reload to apply changes without a restart. Updates add new config keys without wiping your settings.

- /duel <player> <kit> [mode] [rounds] [wager] challenges a player. Aliases: /duello, /1v1.
- /duel accept|deny <player> answers a challenge.
- /duel cancel withdraws a challenge you sent.
- /duel forfeit (or /duel ff) and /duel leave exit a duel in progress.
- /duel spectate <player> (or /duel watch) watches a live duel.
- /duel stats [player] shows a player's wins, losses, streak, and rating.
- /duel top (or /duel leaderboard) opens the ladder menu.
- /duel kits opens the kit picker menu.
- /duel kit save|delete|list manages custom kits.
- /duel arena setspawn|enable|disable|delete|list manages arenas.
- /duel reload reloads config.yml and messages.yml.

Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21 to 26.1.2.
- Paper, Spigot, or Bukkit.
- Java 21.
- Vault and an economy plugin are optional, only needed for wagers.
- PlaceholderAPI is optional, only needed for placeholders.
Installation
- Put Duello-1.0.0.jar in your plugins folder.
- Start the server once to create config.yml and messages.yml.
- Edit the config if you want, then run /duel reload.
