Cartograph
Cartograph adds map based treasure hunts to your server: an ordered trail of clues, a compass and treasure map to help players track them down, and a payout when they dig up the prize. Everything, including the two hunts that ship with the plugin, is written in one config file, so you can edit them or add your own.
Built for: Survival, SMP, and any server that wants a scavenger hunt event players can run any time.
Hunt browser menu
Players open /cartograph to see every hunt in one menu: its icon, description, and current status, in progress with the clue number, on cooldown, completed, or ready to start. Clicking a hunt starts it or shows the current clue again.
Clue trails
Each hunt is an ordered list of clues. Walking into a clue's location reveals the next one with a message and a sound, and the last clue tells the player to dig.
Compass and treasure map
Run /cartograph track and a held compass points toward the current clue, fuzzed within a config set radius so it hints at the area without giving away the exact spot. Hunts can also hand out a named treasure map on start that re-shows the current clue on right click.
Digging up the treasure
Reaching the final clue arms the hunt. Right click the ground there and the player claims the reward: money through Vault, experience, item stacks, and optional console commands, with a server wide broadcast if you turn it on. A burst of particles and a sound play on the dig.
Two hunts included
The Spawn Trail is a short, repeatable two clue hunt with a one hour cooldown. The Buried Cove is a longer three clue hunt that pays out once per player. Both are fully editable, and you can add as many more as you want.
