Shard runs its AI detection on a cloud service (shard.ac), so it requires:
  • A free Shard account - create one at shard.ac
  • Outbound internet access from your server to shard.ac, since detection is cloud-based

There's a free tier to get started. Bigger servers need a paid plan for the extra traffic (credit-based, details at shard.ac). Without a valid account and connection the plugin does no AI detection.
