World and map policies

When selling in game worlds or maps through our services, we have policies that you must ensure you're abiding by. Failure to comply will result in a warning just like any other rule violation.

    Policies

    • Any world or maps which feature outdoor areas, or otherwise "uncovered" areas largely visible from the top down, regardless of whether it is natural terrain, city scapes, a textureless maze, etc, must provide a "birds eye view" of the entire world or map. In other words, the entirety of the map must be made clearly visible to buyers so that the location of each portion of the map in relation to others is clearly understood. A video or set of photos that collectively depict the entirety of the world or map is also acceptable. This includes any "unfinished" areas of the map that are also included in the download.

    • If your product features a mixture of "furnished" and "unfurnished" indoor areas, and you advertise or depict any of the furnished interiors, then you must clearly indicate in your description at minimum an estimation of the quantity of indoor areas which remain unfurnished so that buyers are not mislead into believing that most or all of the indoor areas would come furnished.

    • The photos and media used to depict the world or map must accurately reflect the overall quality and state of the product.
These policies were introduced Jan 15th 2026. Due to the lack of issues arising with Minecraft worlds over the years and the undue burden on creators of long standing products, existing products will only require updating if it is individually determined that the provided pictures fail to accurately depict the product. All newly published Minecraft worlds and maps, or worlds and maps created in other games (such as Roblox) are required to be brought into compliance by July 14th 2026.
